The latest revision to the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Regulation (EU) 2023/2673) officially came into force on June 19, 2026.
This new rule requires all online interfaces (websites, mobile apps, and stores) offering distance contracts—including physical goods, services, and digital products—to provide a compliant electronic withdrawal function.
Under this directive, EU consumers have the statutory right to withdraw from most distance contracts within 14 days without giving any reason.
